A Man and His Cat

I never dreamed in a thousand years that one of my pets would turn on me. I love them. I feed them. I give them treats.... needless to say, my mutts are spoiled rotten. Well, low and behold, it has happened. Boxer, has taken up with the man, my boyfriend, Rob. I believe it all started when Rob began spending more and more weekends at my house. He started taking over in the "treat" department. Giving Boxer treats and.... catnip (which he LOVES) anytime the let out his little "meow meow". And now, Box almost refuses to drink out of his water bowl. He is too good for that and demands that the bathtub have a continual drip drip drip going. ( I roll my eyes). And.... to my extreme surprise, he brushed him the other day too! I have to laugh because secretly I love it. So now, when Rob gets up to go do anything around the house, he's gotta a little tiger shadow following him around. And this is all from a man that "doesn't like cats".

Afternoon Sun

Shining through the cracks
One of my favorite photos of Blaze and Belle.

A VERY Welcome Addition!

On January 23, 2009 in the late afternoon, my niece Birdie Emma was born. She was very healthy and very petite!

This was nothing new to me. I had been to the birth (not in the room at the time) of Blaze and Belle, in which both were equally exciting to be a part of. Birdie was no exception. I arrived at the hospital with Blaze and Belle in tow. None of us could wait to get up to the room, but it was all about the "hurry up and wait" factor... ha ha ha! So we talked, watched tv, and played with toys till the contractions got crazy and they kicked Blaze and me out of the room. Belle was sleeping like a bear in hibernation in the recliner in the corner of the room. She slept through it all. Meanwhile, Blaze and I are out in the hall way listening through the door left ajar. Granted this is NOT where you are supposed to wait... we break rules! He was so excited to be a big brother again, pure joy was illuminating from eyes and smile! I love seeing that. And he is an awesome big brother, there's no doubt about that!

She finally arrived in the late afternoon and she was beautiful! Her big sister was gently awakened to discover her new baby sister, which she loves very much.

I never knew how much you could really love someone untill the birth of these three kids. They are the sun and the moon, and the air that I breathe.

Sometimes dreams come true, don't they?

As I am notorious for my procrastinating ways, it's a good thing that my boyfriend Rob knows how to light the fire under my derriere! A couple weekends ago, he decided that we need to clean out the garage, which meant lots of dust and dirt and many trips to the dumpster... but we got most of it done. I believe, however that Rob had other motives for cleaning the garage. I think it was only to pay homage to the wondrous piece of metal that is setting under it's shingled roof. And I could not have agreed more. So after airing up one tire and some break work, we rolled her out of the garage. It was a pity of how much dust was on her. To think, this car once roared down the drag strip! The giddy daydream that it could once again, was overwhelming. I teared up. I love this car. This car and I belong together. My red hair and that beautiful green paint...oh my my! So we cleaned her up, stood and looked at her long enough for several gaukers to break their necks while driving by and one man to stop by and drool over her. We then rolled her back into the garage in hopes that someday she'll be ours!
